A Family Doctor with a Diploma of Obstetrics, Dr John D'Arcy began his broadcasting career nearly 20 years ago as a producer and presenter for Seven News. He was the first medical practitioner appointed to an Australian newsroom and continues to lead by example in his role as medical reporter for Seven's Sunrise and Today Tonight.
Dr John is one of the Network's most popular and respected journalists. Over the past two decades he has appeared regularly on many of the Networks' News and Currents Affairs programs.
His program 'Health Check', is now heard every weekday on over 65 radio stations throughout Australia.
John studied medicine at the University of Sydney and has practiced far a field; in the UK, Vietnam, and PNG before finally settling as a family physician in Sydney.
Today, in addition to his Health Check and Seven media responsibilities, he presents Drive Time Medical, a bi-monthly family medicine training program for doctors throughout Australia.
He is seen daily on Good Health Television in 7000 medical centres and hospital outpatient clinics, talking 'Health and Well being' with Presenter, Ross Symonds.
Dr John D'Arcy is the company physician to Seven Network Ltd, a Board Member of The Institute of Immunology and Allergy Research and CRASH, The Centre for Research in Adolescent Health at Sydney's Westmead Hospital; The Sony Foundation with it's emphasis on expanding the possibilities for young Australians, The Colo-Rectal Foundation, dedicated to research the cause and treatment of colon cancer, The Arthritis Task Force,'Hoc Mai', The Australia- Vietnam Foundation, extending the hand of peace, friendship and education to our northern neighbour.
John and Wendy have four children and that's probably why he has gray hair.
